What mouthpiece should I choose next. Soprano Yamaha saxophone, currently got a Yamaha 4c.?
I am looking for a bright sound clean, with easy access to upper register. I like to use hard reeds do not know why and I want to blow. Played the flute in the past and I think I'm looking for a flute tone as clear as I can bend.
I played Alto saxaphone in the past and had a good tone on the mouthpiece with a Selmer, unfortnately I do not remember the model.
like the idea of a metal spout, but it is not so important. I am an intermediate player and have not played for a while asi dislike the current sound, which sounds "novice".I may blow over - comments welcome.

And for your information if you plan to play in a group, most groups do not want a bright sound from a saxophone.They want dark, mellow sound instruments that blend easily. Also, the upper register on the soprano is a very bad idea. Already an octave above a tenor and a 5th Alto above to begin. When you get up to the high natural range of the instrument you play longer than most any instrument, and a soprano Altissimo, unless done by a professional (though very rare) is just unpleasant gnashing.

Claudio Roditi Quintet With Glenn Cashmanat Rose Gardens Marriott, Newport Beach
Brazilian-born trumpeter Claudio Roditi began his musical studies at an early age and later emigrated to the U.S., first to Boston and then to New York City. Exposed to jazz in his teens, he began to infuse Brazilian rhythms with post-bop elements, working with many jazz greats along the way.
Producers/organizers Joe Rothman and John McClure have made some wonderful outdoor summer concerts in the Rose Gardens at Marriott Newport on Wednesday evenings. The Claudio Roditi Quintet performed August 10th with tenor/soprano saxophonist, Glenn Cashman. Their stellar rhythm section included pianist Ed Czach, bassist Luther Hughes and drummer Paul Kreibich.
The opening Roditi original, “A Ra” (“The Frog"), was a bossa tune that had great flavor. A light swinging “Tangerine” followed, featuring Roditi’s flugelhorn, specially designed by Schagel in Austria. It is played sideways, not only interesting to watch, but the sound is very mellow as well. Hughes’ bass solo was stupendous during this number. Roditi also played his rotary trumpet on some tunes during the course of the concert. It is made by Hans Kromat from Germany.
