Concert notes: Tour packs a Five Finger Death Punch

The fall jaunt packaging several like-minded, hard-nosed, in-your-face rock bands is led by Five Finger Death Punch, the L.A. thrash/metal band (which was actually born in Vegas) that made some waves thanks to its 2009 album “War Is the Answer.” The lineup also includes All That Remains, Hatebreed and Rev Theory, none of which will ever be mistaken for a smooth-jazz group — the only thing they’d do with a soprano sax is break it in half.
The tour lands in Sunken Garden Theater on Oct. 29. The show popped onto the radar this week on the band web site and concert-watchdog Pollstar. KISS-FM is listing a ticket sale date Saturday, although the show hasn’t turned up on Ticketmaster yet.
A band that looks equally capable of delivering and absorbing welts, Five Finger Death Punch is certainly no stranger to San Antonio. Obviously, the band has a strong work ethic when it comes to touring, knowing that rock bands have their work cut out building an audience these days. Share the Welt will be the quintet’s SEVENTH visit here since it burst into prominence with the rock-radio hit “The Bleeding” in 2007.
