Maroon 5's Adam Levin Suing Makers of "Band Hero" Video Game
Maroon 5 frontman and The Voice coach Adam Levine is suing the makers of the Band Hero video game over allegations his likeness was misrepresented.
Levine approved the usage of his band's hit song "She Will Be Loved" for the Guitar Hero spin-off and even performed for the game makers so that they could create an avatar modeled after him via motion-capture technology.
However, Levine claims Activision bosses breached their contract by adding a feature which allows users to make his avatar sing more than 60 songs by other acts. That's not what he signed up for.
In a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, Levine claims that a number of the tracks "would not have been chosen by him for recordings or performance." Essentially, he doesn't want to be associated with some of these acts or songs.
Levine is suing for fraudulent inducement, breach of contract, violation of the common-law right of publicity and unfair business
