Music People! What is the difference between a silver-plated and a solid silver flute headjoint?
Do solid silver headjoint flute make a big difference in sound? Are silver-plated ones about the same?
Thank you for responding!
Do you know if it's really a difference? I'm an intermediary, and I just found this great flute Pearl I like, but only silver plated, compared with a solid silver head joint a Yamaha.
Any chance of a preferred brand of flute? preferebly Yamaha or Pearl?
The silver-plated ones look pretty, as are solid silver, but the strongest of money make a significant difference in sound. However, if you are a beginner, the difference in sound will not be as great, because at that time is always the player, not the instrument is important. For more experienced players, the solid silver head joint is the way to go.
