What should I clean my flute with?

I just bought a Gemeinhardt M2 flute seconds, and I'm not sure what I should clean it with. I did not varnish flute, for sure.
Would alcohol be alright?

Congrats on your new flute. No, no. Do not use alcohol ..... too strong.
You must use may be watered down Windex and a soft cloth. You can also use a little polish silver ... Gob did not but just a little on a cloth and wipe gently. You'll see the stuff turns black, even if they are not tarnished ... but it very well. The varnish will clean the flute well and protect it from fingerprints and other residues. You must remember to wash your hands before playing the flute and wipe each time you finish reading it ... And I mean every time.If you want to be proud of your flute .... you want to look good and keep looking good. :))
