how much is a used armstrong flute worth?
my band teacher told me he had never seen a flute before Armstrong, but I was looking on Craigslist and Google and it seemed that it was a mark better than Yamaha. Is this correct?
Hello Lacey. :))
Now, to answer your question:
Your band director should be young enough and is obviously not a flute player. The company has made Armstrong Armstrong flutes for about 50 years. It is an old company and it has literally millions of flutes over the years.
As a professor of flute ... I would not say Armstrong was a flute better than Yamaha. In fact, this is not a game better, sounding, feeling, Yamaha instrument at all.The only way you can determine that for yourself is to ask mom to take you to a music store so you can play to test both side of the instruments of the coast.
Several band directors and teachers of private lessons require students to play on a Yamaha. They are more consistent throughout the records and are very, very robust and reliable flutes.
If you try to sell your flute and is in excellent condition ... Pads good, no dings or dents, no tarnish, no leaks, nice case ... close to the research again, I would say that you can ask him for $ 300.00. If it is in poor condition but playing, you might get $ 150.00 ... but he could not sell at all.
As parents are eager to play and finding good instruments for their students ..... Not going to pay much money for a flute that seems bad. Would you?
So there. I hope I was able to answer your question to your satisfaction.
Thank you for reading.
