Bose QC3 headphones good at filtering out EXTERNAL sounds?
I live in a condo complex with very inconsiderate neighbors who play their music as loud as they please. I have a white noise machine, but it does not really help the bass. The bass is what makes me mad. Talking to these people does not work because you are literally out of his mind, and one hardly seems fair. I have earplugs foam (SC 30), Home Depot, but they did not really do much to filter the other low. I was curious whether anyone has tried the Bose QC3 headphones to try to filter the noise of this kind. It works well?
The QC3 Bose and Bose QC2s done an impressive job of filtering noise sound like a jet engine, a lawnmower, ect. Suppose if you have a little music through quality circles, it might help. The best thing you can do is try. Bose offers a rebate of 30 return policy for you to try. How ever in this case id suggest QC2s Bose.

Sony MDR-NC200D Digital Noise Canceling Headphones
The MDR-NC200D looks similar to the QuietComfort 3. They are both supra-aural headphones, meaning they rest on the ear instead of encircling it and sealing it off, as circumaural pairs do. The all-black headphones have very little visual flourish to them—just the familiar Sony logo, left and right ear demarcations, and ample padding, which makes them quite comfortable to wear for long stretches. A single triple-A battery, which is included, sits in a compartment inside the left earpiece. It’s unfortunate that Sony did not opt for a rechargeable option like the QuietComfort 3 uses.In addition to the battery, the left earpiece houses all of the buttons that operate the MDR-NC200D's noise circuitry. There’s an On/Off switch (as previously mentioned, the headphones still output audio when they are “off”), a button called AI NC (more on that later), and a Monitor button that disables noise cancellation and mutes your music so you can clearly hear whatever’s going on around you.
